The lakes are fishing beautifully with the warmer weather. Chironomid hatches have been steady mid-morning, and trout are rising freely into the afternoon. Match the hatch and fish a slow retrieve just under the surface.

Clear water and stable weather should keep this going right through the week — a great time to get the family out.

The herring are in and the salmon have followed. Fish are holding tight to the bait balls around the harbour — anchovy in a glow teaser head has been the standout. Best action has been the first two hours of light.

Bring plenty of leader; they've been hitting hard.

Recent rain has freshened the river and pushed a good number of steelhead into the system. Water's got a bit of colour, so we're recommending larger, brighter presentations — pink worms and heavier jigs have been producing.

Fish the softer inside seams and take your time working each run.

Spring chinook are moving through the inlet and the bite has been best on the morning tide. Anglers are doing well with green-glow spoons in 60–90 ft.

River levels are dropping into good shape for the coming week — expect the fishing to keep improving.
